Description
Introduction and Mode of Action: Spirodiclofen is a contact and non-systemic insecticide-acaricide belonging to the tetronic acid group. It effectively controls all life stages of mites except adult males. Spirodiclofen works by inhibiting lipid synthesis in the pest’s body, ultimately leading to its control.
Application and Dosage:
Crop | Pest | Dosage |
Apple | European red mite, Two-spotted spider mite | 500 mL per 1000 L water |
Citrus | European red mite | 170 mL per 1000 L water |
Pistachio | Psyllid | 300-400 mL per 1000 L water |
Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI): The interval between the last spraying and harvest is 14 days for apples and pistachios.
Application Management:
- Spirodiclofen only disrupts the development of target mites and does not affect eggs, so do not spray during winter.
- The best time for application is after mite eggs hatch.
- The pesticide adheres to the waxy surface of leaves and is not washed off by rain.
- The first visible effects on pests appear within three days after application.
Application Method:
- Select and calibrate an appropriate sprayer.
- Dissolve the recommended amount of pesticide in a small amount of water.
- Add the prepared solution to a half-filled sprayer tank.
- While stirring, add the remaining required water.
- The sprayer agitator must operate continuously during solution preparation and application.
Precautions:
- Avoid ingesting, contaminating food and animal feed, skin and eye contact, inhaling spray particles, and eating or drinking during spraying.
- Wear protective clothing, including work attire, a hat, goggles, a mask, boots, and impermeable gloves.
- After spraying, wash clothes and body thoroughly.
- Smoking is strictly prohibited during spraying.
- Do not reuse empty pesticide containers.
- Empty containers must be stored away from water sources and disposed of according to national environmental regulations.
- Transport must comply with international hazardous materials regulations.
Storage Conditions:
- Keep out of reach of children and animals.
- Store in its original packaging in a sealed warehouse, away from sunlight, moisture, and livestock.
- Storage temperature: Between 10°C and 35°C.
- Once the seal is broken, the shelf life decreases.
- Do not store the pesticide as an aqueous solution.
Poisoning Symptoms and First Aid:
Symptoms include eye, skin, and respiratory tract irritation, dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, and vision disturbances.
- If the pesticide comes into contact with the face or body, immediately wash the affected area with soap and water multiple times.
- In case of poisoning symptoms, seek medical attention immediately and show the pesticide label to the doctor.
Environmental Toxicity:
- This pesticide is hazardous to small mammals, fish, and aquatic organisms.
- Remove livestock and poultry from the area before spraying.
- Prevent grazing in freshly treated areas.
- Avoid contaminating drinking water sources, including rivers, stagnant water, and groundwater, with the pesticide or its solution.
- Do not wash spraying equipment near rivers or running water.
