Introduction and Mode of Action:
Permethrin is a contact-stomach insecticide with rapid knockdown effect, belonging to the pyrethroid group. It disrupts sodium channel function in the insect’s nerve cord.

Usage and Application Rates:

Fruit Trees Leaf Miner Spray at a concentration of 0.5 per thousand during outbreak years against the first or, at most, the second generation, in a single session.
Sugar Beet Prodonia Spray at 1 liter per hectare.

Application Management:
It decomposes rapidly in soil and water.

Method of Application:

  1. Select and calibrate the appropriate sprayer.
  2. Dissolve the recommended amount of pesticide in a small quantity of water.
  3. Add this solution to the calibrated sprayer tank, which is half-filled with water.
  4. While mixing, add the remaining required water.
  5. Ensure the sprayer tank’s agitator is operating during both preparation and spraying.

Precautions:

  • Avoid ingesting the pesticide, contaminating food for humans and animals, and contact with skin, eyes, or clothing.
  • Do not inhale pesticide particles or eat or drink during spraying.
  • Wear protective clothing, a hat, goggles, a mask, impermeable boots, and gloves during spraying.
  • After spraying, wash clothes and body thoroughly.
  • Do not smoke while spraying.
  • Do not reuse pesticide containers. Empty containers should be stored away from water sources and disposed of according to national environmental regulations.
  • Transport must adhere to international hazardous materials regulations.

Storage Conditions:
Store the pesticide out of reach of children and animals, in its original packaging, in closed storage away from sunlight, humidity, and livestock.
Storage temperature should be between 10°C and 35°C.
Once opened, the pesticide’s stability decreases.
Do not store the pesticide as an aqueous solution.

Signs of Poisoning and First Aid:
Symptoms include headache, dizziness, nausea, and visual disturbances.

  • If pesticide solution contacts skin or face, wash the affected area several times with soap and water.
  • In case of poisoning symptoms, seek medical attention and provide the pesticide label to the physician.

Environmental Toxicity:

  • Dangerous for honeybees.
  • Remove livestock and poultry from the area before spraying.
  • Prevent grazing in freshly sprayed areas.
  • Do not contaminate drinking water sources, stagnant, or underground water with the pesticide or its solution.
  • Avoid washing spraying equipment near rivers and flowing water.
