Description
Introduction and Mode of Action: Acetamiprid is a contact and ingestion insecticide with systemic activity from the neonicotinoid group. It disrupts the normal function of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors and the central nervous system of insects.
Usage and Application Rates:
Crop | Pest | Application Rate |
Apple | Leaf Miner | 500 g per 1000 liters of water |
Pistachio | Psylla | 200-250 g per 1000 liters of water |
Apple | Codling Moth | 500 g per 1000 liters of water |
Pre-harvest Interval:
- Apple & Pistachio: 28–42 days
- Codling Moth Treatment: 14 days
Application Management for Neonicotinoid Insecticides:
- This insecticide should only be applied after sunset.
- In areas where beekeeping is practiced, it is preferable to apply the insecticide at temperatures below 12°C.
- Beekeepers must be notified 48 hours before application to allow them to relocate their bees and hives if needed.
- Strictly avoid application on ornamental plants that attract pollinators.
- Avoid mixing this insecticide with other pesticides that may have synergistic effects on pollinators.
- Do not apply the insecticide during temperature inversion conditions.
Application Method:
Select and calibrate an appropriate sprayer. Dissolve the recommended amount of pesticide in a small quantity of water, then add this solution to a half-filled sprayer tank. While stirring, add the remaining required water. The sprayer tank agitator must operate during both solution preparation and spraying.
Precautions:
- Avoid ingestion, contamination of human and animal food, skin, eye, or clothing contact, inhalation of pesticide particles, and eating or drinking during spraying.
- Wear protective clothing, a hat, goggles, a mask, boots, and non-permeable gloves during spraying. After application, wash clothes and body thoroughly.
- Strictly avoid smoking during spraying.
- Do not reuse pesticide containers. Empty containers must be stored away from water sources and disposed of in accordance with national environmental regulations.
- Transportation of this pesticide must comply with international hazardous materials regulations.
Storage Conditions:
- Store the pesticide in its original packaging, out of the reach of children and animals, in closed warehouses away from sunlight, moisture, and livestock.
- Storage temperature should be between 10°C and 35°C.
- Once the pesticide seal is opened, its shelf life and effectiveness may decrease.
- Avoid storing the pesticide in aqueous solution form.
Symptoms of Poisoning and First Aid:
Symptoms include muscle weakness, dizziness, nausea, vision disturbances, and irregular breathing. If the pesticide solution contacts the skin or face, immediately wash the affected area several times with soap and water. If poisoning symptoms occur, seek medical attention and show the pesticide label to the doctor.
Environmental Toxicity:
- Acetamiprid is highly toxic to bees.
- Remove livestock and poultry from the area before application and prevent grazing in freshly treated areas.
- Avoid contaminating drinking water sources, stagnant or underground water with the pesticide or its solution.
- Do not wash pesticide application equipment near rivers or running water.
Antidote: No specific antidote exists for Acetamiprid . Seek medical attention in case of poisoning.
