Description
Introduction and Mode of Action: This insecticide combines two active ingredients: Emamectin Benzoate (from the avermectin group) and Indoxacarb (from the oxadiazine group).
- Emamectin Benzoate is a non-systemic insecticide (with translaminar activity), primarily acting through ingestion and to a lesser extent by contact. It affects nerve cells, inhibiting muscle contractions (causing paralysis), stopping feeding, and ultimately leading to the insect’s death.
- Indoxacarb is a contact and ingestion insecticide that blocks sodium channels in the insect’s nervous system.
Usage and Application Rates:
Crop | Pest | Application Rate |
Sugar beet | Cutworm (Agrotis) | 400 ml per hectare |
Pre-Harvest Interval:
No official pre-harvest interval has been registered for this pesticide.
Application Management:
The best time to apply is at the early formation of the pest and during the first larval stage.
Application Method:
Choose and calibrate a suitable sprayer. Dissolve the recommended amount of insecticide in a small volume of water, then add this solution to a half-filled sprayer tank. While stirring, add the remaining water. The sprayer’s agitator must be active during both preparation and application.
Precautions:
- Avoid ingestion, contamination of human and animal food, contact with skin, eyes, and clothing, inhalation of particles, and eating or drinking during spraying.
- Wear protective clothing, hat, goggles, mask, boots, and impermeable gloves during application.
- After spraying, thoroughly wash clothes and body.
- Strictly avoid smoking during spraying.
- Do not reuse empty pesticide containers.
- Empty containers must be stored away from water sources and disposed of according to national environmental regulations.
- Transport must comply with international hazardous materials regulations.
Storage Conditions:
- Store the pesticide in its original packaging, out of reach of children and animals, in closed warehouses away from sunlight, moisture, and livestock.
- Storage temperature should be between 10°C and 35°C.
- Once opened, the shelf life and efficacy may be reduced.
- Do not store the pesticide in aqueous solution form.
Symptoms of Poisoning and First Aid:
Symptoms include headache, dizziness, nausea, and vision disturbances.
If the solution contacts the face or body, immediately wash the affected area several times with soap and water.
In case of poisoning symptoms, consult a physician and present the pesticide label.
Environmental Toxicity:
- Dangerous to honeybees, quails, and fish.
- Remove livestock and poultry from the area before spraying, and prevent grazing in freshly treated areas.
- Avoid contaminating drinking water sources, standing or underground water with the pesticide or its solution.
- Do not wash spraying equipment near rivers or running water.
Antidote: No specific antidote is available for Emamectin Benzoate + Indoxacarb.
