Description
Introduction and Mode of Action: Emulsifiable oil is the most commonly used oil in agriculture, either alone or in combination with other insecticides, especially organophosphates, to enhance durability and insecticidal efficacy. This oil forms a stable thin layer on sprayed surfaces, covering the bodies and eggs of insects, blocking their respiratory and vital pores, and sometimes preventing spore dispersion in certain fungi, thereby reducing damage. Additionally, it dissolves the waxy layer of the insect’s skin, causing it to become trapped by water’s surface tension.
Application Instructions:
Crop | Pest | Dosage | Application Time |
Citrus | Red mite, Eastern yellow mite, Scale insects | 1–1.5% | Winter, summer, late spring, early summer |
Temperate fruit trees | European red mite, Pear psylla, Apple leaf miner, Scale insects | 1.5% | Winter before bud swelling; when eggs hatch, based on forecasts |
Pistachio | Soft scale, Tree scale | 1–1.5% | Winter before bud swelling; summer |
Date palm | Soft scale, Transparent scale | 1–1.5% | Winter, spring |
Tea | Mealybugs, Red short-legged mite | 0.5–1% | With an organophosphate under expert guidance |
Non-fruit trees and ornamental plants | White scale | 1% | Pre-spring with an appropriate pesticide under expert guidance |
Pre-Harvest Interval:
The interval between the last spraying and harvest is 3 to 4 weeks.
Application Management:
- Avoid spraying in hot (above 32–35°C) or extremely cold weather.
- Do not mix oil with sulfur-based pesticides during application. Maintain a minimum interval of one month between oil and sulfur pesticide applications.
Usage Instructions:
- Select and calibrate an appropriate sprayer.
- Dissolve the recommended amount of oil in water and add this solution to a sprayer tank that is half-filled with water.
- Stir while adding the remaining required water.
- Ensure the sprayer’s agitator is operating during preparation and application.
Precautions:
- Avoid ingestion, contaminating food, skin, eyes, or clothing contact, and inhalation of pesticide particles.
- Do not eat, drink, or smoke during spraying.
- Wear protective clothing, hat, goggles, mask, boots, and non-permeable gloves.
- Wash hands and body thoroughly after spraying.
- Do not reuse pesticide containers.
- Store empty containers away from water sources and dispose of them according to environmental regulations.
- Transport this pesticide following international hazardous material regulations.
Storage Conditions:
- Keep out of reach of children and animals.
- Store in original packaging in closed warehouses, away from sunlight, moisture, and livestock.
- Storage temperature: 10–35°C.
- Do not store as an aqueous solution. Opened containers reduce product shelf life.
Symptoms of Poisoning and First Aid:
Symptoms include headache, dizziness, nausea, and vomiting.
- If the pesticide solution comes into contact with skin or body, wash the affected area thoroughly with soap and water.
- If poisoning symptoms occur, seek medical attention and show the pesticide label to the physician.
Environmental Toxicity:
- This oil is hazardous to bees and fish.
- Remove livestock and poultry from the area before spraying, and prevent grazing in recently sprayed areas.
- Avoid contaminating drinking water, surface water, and groundwater with the pesticide or its solution.
- Do not wash spraying equipment near rivers or water sources.
Antidote:
Emulsifiable oil has no specific antidote.
