Description

Introduction and Mode of Action: Glyphosate is a non-selective systemic herbicide that is absorbed through the leaves of plants. It affects enzymatic systems in the plant and interferes with the synthesis of amino acids (EPSPS synthesis inhibitor).

Application and Dosage

Crop Target Weeds Dosage
Fruit Trees Broadleaf and grassy weeds 4 to 12 L/ha depending on weed type, applied at maximum weed activity (flowering stage)
Sugarcane Annual and perennial weeds 1 to 2% solution, applied post-emergence in patches

Pre-harvest Interval (PHI): No officially registered PHI has been recorded so far.

Application Management

  • Avoid spraying on the leaves and trunks of young trees.
  • Mixing with Frigate (0.5%) or Ammonium Sulfate (2%) can reduce the required application rate.

Application Method

  1. Select and calibrate a suitable sprayer.
  2. Dissolve the recommended amount of herbicide in a small quantity of water.
  3. Add this solution to a calibrated sprayer tank that is half-filled with water.
  4. While stirring, add the remaining required amount of water.
  5. The sprayer’s agitator must remain active during mixing and spraying.

Precautions

  • Avoid ingestion, contamination of food and animal feed, skin and eye contact, and inhalation of spray particles.
  • Do not eat, drink, or smoke during spraying.
  • Wear protective clothing, including work uniform, hat, goggles, mask, boots, and impermeable gloves.
  • After spraying, wash hands, body, and clothes thoroughly.
  • Do not reuse pesticide containers. Empty containers must be stored away from water sources and disposed of according to national environmental regulations.
  • Transport of this pesticide must comply with international hazardous material regulations.

Storage Conditions

  • Store the pesticide out of reach of children and animals, in its original packaging, in sealed storage facilities away from sunlight, moisture, and livestock.
  • Storage temperature should be between 10°C and 35°C.
  • Once the container seal is broken, the product’s shelf life decreases.
  • Do not store the pesticide in aqueous solution form.

Poisoning Symptoms and First Aid

Symptoms include headache, dizziness, nausea, and vision disturbances.

  • If Glyphosate comes into contact with skin or face, wash the affected area multiple times with soap and water.
  • If poisoning symptoms occur, seek medical attention immediately and present the pesticide label to the doctor.

Environmental Toxicity

  • This pesticide is dangerous to bees.
  • Remove livestock and poultry from the treated area before application, and prevent grazing in freshly treated fields.
  • Avoid contaminating drinking water, stagnant water, and groundwater with the pesticide or its solution.
  • Do not wash spraying equipment near rivers or water sources.

Antidote

There is no specific antidote for Glyphosate.
