Introduction and Mode of Action: <\/strong>Acetochlor is a selective<\/a> and non-systemic herbicide from the chloroacetamide group. It is used to control annual narrow-leaf weeds, some annual broad-leaf weeds, and yellow nutsedge in corn fields. Acetochlor works by inhibiting protein synthesis, preventing cell division, and blocking the synthesis of long-chain fatty acids. The herbicide is mainly absorbed by the aerial parts of the plant and secondarily by the roots of germinating plants<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Method of Application:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Select and calibrate an appropriate sprayer.<\/li>\n
  2. Dissolve the recommended amount of pesticide in a small amount of water.<\/li>\n
  3. Add this solution to the half-filled, calibrated sprayer tank.<\/li>\n
  4. While stirring, add the remaining required water.<\/li>\n
  5. Ensure the sprayer tank agitator operates during both solution preparation and spraying.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Precautions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Avoid ingestion, contaminating food, skin or eye contact, inhalation of spray particles, eating, or drinking during spraying.<\/li>\n
    • Use protective clothing, hats, goggles, masks, boots, and impermeable gloves during spraying.<\/li>\n
    • Wash clothes and body after spraying.<\/li>\n
    • Refrain from smoking during application.<\/li>\n
    • Never reuse pesticide containers. Empty containers must be stored away from water sources and disposed of environmentally in compliance with national regulations.<\/li>\n
    • Transport the pesticide in accordance with international hazardous material standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Storage Conditions:<\/strong>
      \nStore Acetochlor out of the reach of children and animals, in its original packaging, in closed warehouses away from sunlight, moisture, and livestock. The storage temperature should be between 10\u00b0C and 35\u00b0C. Opening the package may reduce its shelf life. Avoid storing the pesticide in an aqueous solution form.<\/p>\n

      Symptoms of Poisoning and First Aid:<\/strong>
      \nSymptoms include dizziness, nausea, and visual disturbances. If the solution spills on the skin or face, wash the affected area thoroughly with soap and water several times. If poisoning symptoms appear, consult a doctor and show them the pesticide label.<\/p>\n

      Environmental Toxicity:<\/strong>
      \nThis pesticide is hazardous to bees. Keep livestock and poultry away from treated areas during spraying and prevent grazing in recently sprayed areas. Avoid contaminating drinking water sources, both surface and underground, with the pesticide or its solution. Do not clean spraying equipment near rivers or streams.<\/p>\n
