Description
Introduction and Mode of Action: Malathion is a non-systemic insecticide with contact, ingestion, and slight respiratory properties. It belongs to the organophosphate group and also has acaricidal properties. It works by disrupting the function of cholinesterase in the pest’s nervous system.

Application Management:
Malathion reduces blood cholinesterase levels.
Usage Instructions:
- Select and calibrate an appropriate sprayer.
- Mix the recommended amount of pesticide in water and add this solution to a sprayer tank that is half-filled with water.
- Stir while adding the remaining required water.
- Ensure the sprayer’s agitator is operating during preparation and application.
Precautions:
- Avoid ingestion, contaminating food, skin, eyes, or clothing contact, and inhaling pesticide particles.
- Do not eat, drink, or smoke during application.
- Wear protective clothing, hat, goggles, mask, boots, and non-permeable gloves.
- Wash hands and body thoroughly after spraying.
- Do not reuse pesticide containers.
- Store empty containers away from water sources and dispose of them environmentally as per regulations.

Storage Conditions:

- Do not wash sprayers near rivers or water sources.
Antidote:
The antidote for Malathion is Atropine 2-PAM or 2-PAMM.
