Description

Abamectin is an insecticide, acaricide, and nematicide derived from microbial sources. It acts through contact and ingestion and is highly toxic. This pesticide is used to control citrus rust mites and leafminers in vegetables and crops.

Applications and Dosage:

Application Management

Abamectin paralyzes insects by stimulating the release of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). It is extremely hazardous to aquatic organisms and bees.

Instructions for Use

  1. Select and calibrate an appropriate sprayer.
  2. Dissolve the recommended amount of pesticide in a small quantity of water.
  3. Add the solution to a sprayer tank that is half-filled with water.
  4. Stir the solution continuously while adding the remaining water.
  5. Ensure the agitator is operating during preparation and spraying.

Precautions:

  • Avoid ingestion, contamination of food, contact with skin, eyes, or clothing, and inhalation of spray particles.
  • Wear protective clothing, a hat, goggles, a mask, boots, and impermeable gloves during spraying.
  • After spraying, wash clothing and the body thoroughly.
  • Do not smoke during spraying.
  • Do not reuse pesticide containers.
  • Store empty containers away from water sources and dispose of them in accordance with national environmental regulations.
  • Transport this pesticide in compliance with international hazardous materials regulations.

Storage Conditions

  • Store the pesticide out of reach of children and animals, in its original packaging, and in sealed warehouses away from sunlight, moisture, and livestock.
  • Storage temperature: 10–35°C.
  • Opened containers may reduce shelf life and stability.
  • Do not store the pesticide as an aqueous solution.

Symptoms of Poisoning and First Aid:

Symptoms include headache, dizziness, nausea, and vision disturbances.

  • If the solution spills on the skin or body, wash the affected area thoroughly with soap and water several times.
  • If poisoning symptoms occur, seek medical attention and provide the pesticide label to the doctor.

Environmental Toxicity:

  • This pesticide is extremely hazardous to aquatic organisms and bees.
  • Remove livestock and poultry from the area before spraying, and prevent grazing in recently treated areas.
  • Avoid contaminating drinking water, stagnant water, or groundwater with the pesticide or its solution.
  • Do not clean spraying equipment near rivers or running water.
